Business Development Manager

We are an ambitious and fast-growing logistics business. We deliver exceptional customer service and go the extra mile for our customers. We need a high-quality Business Development Manager with exceptional leadership qualities or potential who can lead and role model the best sales practices.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • Develop new business leads
  • Convert enquirers into long-term high margin customers
  • In collaboration with the leadership team, develop an industry leading sales and marketing strategy
  • Develop error proofed sales systems
  • Lead and develop other team members to be exceptional at sales

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • In collaboration with the partners, devise and deliver successful sale strategies and processes

Deliver Results

  • Ensure sales and revenue targets are delivered in line with company objectives

Lead Generation and Pipeline

  • Build and develop a prospect list highlighting prime targets
  • Ensure marketing campaigns are followed up and pipelines are being filled
  • Research and identify key prospects, turning new opportunities into customers
  • Use tele sales & door knocking tactics to get quotes, meetings, new customers
  • Use LinkedIn to connect with targets and set up meetings
  • Attend selected networking events

Conversion

  • Efficiently follow up on leads.
  • Convert quotes.
  • Follow up on leads and meetings.
  • Create and follow up on proposals.

Measurement and CRM

  • Manage the sales and marketing data and keep the Customs Relationship Management system up to date
  • Ensure that the right performance indicators are measured and tracked

Personal Development

  • Allocate time for personal training and development

  • Proven track record in new business development
  • Tele sales experience

Knowledge

  • Logistics experience preferred but not absolutely essential
  • Must be familiar with B2B sales strategies

  • Ability to influence business partners and senior customer decision makers
  • Highest levels of integrity and commitment
