Michael Page Logistics have exclusively partnered with an exciting client who are a global business, supporting their search for a Logistics Operations Manager, operating one of of their key contracts in the UK.

Description

The Logistics Operations Manager role will require the individual to:

  • Report to the Group Head of Logistics or equivalent.
  • Manage a team of 60+ indirect heads and 6 direct reports.
  • Lead the formation of a new Logistics Operations team and ensure clear division of tasks and maximise team performance
  • Full review of all tasks and activities within the team, and implementation of streamlining and improvement to drive efficiencies
  • Day to day line management of the Logistics Operations Team
  • Provide day to day support to the Logistics Operational Team
  • Be the point of contact for any logistics operational support in the business (sites & 3rd parties) and to find solutions to problems as and when they occur
  • Build an effective & productive network within multiple sites, suppliers & 3PL's (warehousing & transport)
  • Be responsible for the operational effectiveness of all customer deliveries and inter-site movements
  • Proactively manage the day-to-day relationships with all logistics suppliers to facilitate close working partnerships
  • Be commutable to Cambridgeshire.

Profile

The successful candidate for the Logistics Operations Manager role will have the following skills and experiences:

  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background - Essential
  • Logistics environments including warehousing, road and sea freight - Essential
  • Import / Export processes & procedures - Essential
  • Strong people leadership and the ability to build high performing teams
  • Operationally astute
  • Change management
  • Degree qualification or supply chain / logistics qualification - Desirable
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills - Essential
  • Communication and interpersonal abilities are crucial, including effective stakeholder management
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with a focus on implementing improvements
  • Understands continuous improvement methodology Self-starter, can work with light supervision
  • Appreciation of the relationship between operations & costs in an FMCG environment
  • Be commutable to Cambridgeshire.
