Position: Floating Support Worker

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Floating Support Worker to join our team. As a Floating Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting homeless applicants by assessing their needs and connecting them with appropriate move-on schemes. Your experience in support work, multi-agency collaboration, and dealing with complex client cases will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of homeless applicants' needs.
- Match cases to suitable move-on schemes, including supported accommodation, private rented tenancies, MCC in-house housing, and social housing through Manchester Move.
- Work with clients presenting complex needs, such as drug and alcohol addiction, mental health conditions, and past serious offenses.
- Address safeguarding concerns promptly and escalate as necessary.
- Develop strong working relationships with partner accommodation schemes.
- Undertake lone working responsibilities, visiting clients in homeless B&Bs and hotels throughout Manchester.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in support work and move-on support work.
- Familiarity with homelessness issues and complex client needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple agencies.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Position Types:
- Intensive Support Workers:

Focus on homeless families.

Manage a case load of 20-25 families.

Assess families over a 3-month period and determine risk levels.

Collaborate closely with families during this critical phase.
- Support Workers:

Work with families for the full tenancy length.

Handle a case load of 40 families.

Provide ongoing support and assistance.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 7 hours per day
Additional Requirements:
- This is a hybrid role, with candidates expected to be office-based twice per week and participate in one duty shift per fortnight.
- Candidates must hold a valid driving license, have access to a car for work purposes, and maintain business insurance.
- All candidates must have a current visa allowing full-time work with at least 6 months remaining (or concrete plans for extension).
- Enhanced DBS checks for adults and children are mandatory.
