Python Developer - FinTech

We are currently seeking an experienced Python Developer to join a growing FinTech organization composed of a diverse team of engineers, quants, and financial professionals. Their mission is to enhance client centricity in investment management by leveraging next-generation portfolio construction and analysis platforms.
What you'll do:
- Lead and manage a medium-sized team.
- Engage with external stakeholders and clients to understand their needs and design solutions for capturing and integrating their data for use on this companies data platform.
- Collaborate with various internal teams to understand their needs, gather requirements, and propose new solutions.
- Develop a strong understanding of FX and interest rate products, related financial markets, and market data sources.
- Implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, including HTTP APIs and event-driven microservices. They use web frameworks like Django and FastAPI.
- Design data models to capture the business domain of complex trades across multiple asset classes. Primary databases will include MySQL and MongoDB.
- Write efficient, testable, and maintainable code in Python, focusing on performance and observability.
- Their performance-critical systems are written in Rust, so experience in or a desire to use Rust is a must.
Requirements Experience and skills that will help you in this role:
- 2+ years of experience in team management.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with financial or market risk modeling is a plus but not required. A keen interest in finance is expected. * Ability to think abstractly and design financial object models.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages - Python is required.
- Experience with databases. We use MongoDB, MySQL, and DynamoDB, but experience with other database technologies is also valuable.
- Experience with AWS is a plus but not required.
- Curiosity to explore new technologies. They are always looking for potential technologies to improve their platform.
