Post Trade Services Controller

Description

Reporting to the Group's Financial Controller for Post Trade and Capital Markets, this role will lead all aspects of financial control for several Post Trade businesses including the expanding Post Trade Solutions. The role will handle the integration of new acquisitions and will work closely with the Centre of Excellence to ensure accurate month end close and will co-ordinate closely with the Centre of Excellence specialist statutory reporting team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a finance manager directly and work closely with colleagues in various teams in the Centre of Excellence as well as finance teams in newly acquired businesses.

Ensure accurate month end close of a number of legal entities including oversight of divisional numbers in full compliance with internal and external reporting standards, policies and internal controls.

Handle the monthly management reporting of legal entity results to boards and various partners in the business.

Maintain strong working relationships with business collaborators, keeping up to date on business developments and providing financial insights as appropriate.

Works closely with the Divisional CFO, finance business partnering leads and business customers and compliance teams.

Supports management of financial performance through budgeting, forecasting and critical metric reporting and monitoring.

The accounting lead for supporting Post Trade Solutions with the accounting implications of new business developments (e.g. new business and significant contracts).

Evaluates and evolves systems, policies, and processes and drives standardisation, automation and operational improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention while ensuring full engagement with relevant collaborators.

Involvement in various ad hoc projects including the Beacon project which will implement a new instance of Oracle across the Group.

Facilitates internal and external financial audits.

Provides financial support for M&A.

Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies:

Essential skills

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified with extensive post-qualified experience
  • Extensive experience in financial control
  • Extensive management experience, including leading teams in a matrix organisation and in forming strong relationships with internal customers and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong customer focus and work ethic
  • Experience leading through transformation / change
  • Dedicated, self-motivated with a positive demeanour and an accountability mentality

Desired skills

  • Background in global financial markets, infrastructure and risk management services
