Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineering Supervisor seeking a new challenge? Our client, a leading healthcare organisation based in Dartford, is looking for a talented individual to join their team. As the Mechanical Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of engineering services.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Focus:

  • Understand the needs of our client's customers and ensure the delivery of exceptional service.
  • Meet performance targets to avoid penalties.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, patients, visitors, and other stakeholders.

Operational Excellence:

  • Support the Mechanical Engineering Manager in their duties.
  • Coordinate and supervise staff and subcontractors in delivering maintenance services.
  • Ensure maintenance work is carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor response and completion times, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulations related to estates services and ensure compliance.
  • Assist with the development and review of estates policies and procedures.
  • Resolve complex faults and carry out maintenance, repair, and calibration.
  • Collaborate with the Mechanical Officer to organise maintenance shutdowns.
  • Participate in estates audits.
  • Act as an Authorised Person in different disciplines.
  • Deputise for the Mechanical Engineering Manager as needed.
  • Operate in a proactive, positive, and professional manner.

People Management:

  • Effectively manage the team by utilising appropriate people management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained and have the required certifications.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Supervise subcontractors and provide feedback.
  • Foster strong employee engagement and motivation.

Financial Management:

  • Manage stock control systems and ensure effective stores and stock management.
  • Work within allocated budgets for labour, materials, equipment, and contractors.

Other:

  • Undertake any other reasonable requests within the scope of the job role.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Be aware of how the role contributes to the organisation's objectives.
  • Be flexible to meet service and customer needs.

Essential Requirements:

  • Completion of a recognised mechanical apprenticeship or relevant training programme.
  • Relevant certifications in City & Guilds, BTEC, and management.
  • Knowledge of building services and mechanical systems.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Understanding of safe systems of work and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Familiarity with CAFM & BMS systems.
  • Competent Person or Responsible Person qualification.
  • Proficiency in IT software systems.

Experience:

  • Proven mechanical experience in a similar environment.
  • Managing a team of technical staff.
  • Working with Microsoft software packages, CAFM systems, and other estates management systems.
  • Developing processes and procedures.
  • Managing estates statutory service-related requirements.
  • Client-facing experience.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical/building aptitude.

  • DBS Clearance is required for this role.
