Job Role: Utilities Estimator

Location: Sutton in Ashfield

Shift: 8:00am-16:30pm Monday-Friday
Salary: £30-£35k

The Company:

A national engineering company with 3 decades of experience within bespoke design, construction of water, energy, and environmental processing and engineering are looking for a Utilities Estimator to join their growing commercial team reporting to the pre contract director.

The Candidate:

  • Will benefit from a Level 5 Mechanical /Electrical or Civil Engineering qualification OR relevant site experience and a demonstrable knowledge of the products and processes
  • Will be able to write accurate and concise reports, proposals.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Microsoft Project.
  • Be confident with presentations
  • Experience of working in the Water Treatment industry will be an essential
  • Demonstrable experience in products such as pumps, screening, sewage treatment equipment and or aeration products will be beneficial

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Operate directly with customers, suppliers, and internal Engineering, Fabrication production and sales teams to cost projects which meet customers' technical and commercial requirements.
  • Produce accurate quotations that include margins, materials, labour, and other associated costs including subcontracted elements.
  • Proposals to include well written narrative on the technical aspects, the key benefits of the business and the technical aspects of the equipment selected.
  • Follow submission of proposals and proactively follow up client queries, and to make follow up enquiries to increase levels of customer interaction to secure orders.
  • Upon contract win, participating in a launch meeting with the project delivery staff to hand over the project,
  • Providing a detailed breakdown of the successful bid, technical risks and opportunities and support the PM with follow up queries through the early stages of the project lifecycle.

License/Certification Required:

  • Level 5 Mechanical /Electrical or Civil Engineering
  • Experience in Water Treatment industry will be an essential.
