Procurement Manager - remote

This is a remote role requiring 1 day per month in Gloucester and adhoc site visits again no more than 1/2 days per month.

The Role:

Due to continued growth and success our client from the private Education industry are looking to grow their existing procurement team with the addition of a Procurement Manager. This role will not have line management responsibility, within the role you will have responsibility for strategic indirect procurement activities across the group. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will work on project procurement and support the implementation and management of category strategies and the creation and delivery of new contracts. You will have day to day purchasing responsibilities including sourcing goods & services and raising PO's.

You'll play a key role in procurement sourcing, demand management and cost avoidance as well as the monitoring of suppliers to ensure compliance with negotiated conditions and SLA's. You will also contribute to research & analysis (spend, cost benchmarking, etc.) to identify saving opportunities and develop strategic procurement activities.

Experience:

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • Detailed practical knowledge of Procurement and the vendor selection process.
  • High level of commercial acumen.
  • Experience of managing procurement processes across multiple businesses/sites.
  • Practical knowledge of professional services agreements.
  • Practical knowledge and a pragmatic approach to the whole tender process from running RFIs & RFPs, to drafting contracts.
  • Ability to read and write key elements of commercial contracts.
  • Ability to work with, influence and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience of managing multiple categories of spend.
  • Professional qualifications in Procurement such as CIPS would be a distinct advantage but definitely not essential
