Software Development Lead/Manager (.NET) - £75,000-£85,000 – London/Hybrid

The Chaucer Group is a leading insurance group who help protect industries around the world from the risks they face. With UK headquarters in London, we also have international offices in Bermuda, Copenhagen, Dubai, and Singapore, and have doubled in size over the last four years.

Due to a couple of really exciting and ambitious IT Growth Projects we are looking for a Software Development Lead/Manager (.NET) to play a critical role in driving digital transformation by leveraging Microsoft Azure services. Like all roles with Chaucer this is initially a 12 month Fixed term Contract with every chance of extension and potentially turning Permanent.

As our Software Development Lead/Manager (.NET) you will lead cross-functional teams of developers and architects to lead design and implement robust solutions. Your primary focus will be on migrating legacy technology applications (Biztalk and .Net) to the cloud, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

In addition, as Software Development Lead/Manager (.NET) you will ensure the Chaucer Application and Integrations development function is equipped with high performing engineers, leading technology, and efficient processes to deliver solutions of a high standard across the organisation.

On a daily basis the Software Development Lead/Manager (.NET) will be responsible

  • Evaluate existing legacy applications and identify opportunities for migration to Azure.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their requirements and pain points related to legacy systems.
  • Engineering Standards -Review and implement industry best practice principles, guidelines and controls for regulatory frameworks such as ISO27001.
  • Work closely with partner-based development teams, providing guidance on Azure best practices.
  • Contribute to Technical Leadership by taking initiatives to make improvement across the division.
  • Ensure software conforms to Group development standards and is supportive of our software systems architecture, and must be simple, well communicated, documented and appropriate to deliver corporate data at the right time, volume, format, and to the right people.
  • Review performance, and team goal/objective setting for internal developers.
  • Mentoring / Coaching - Be keen to participate in the development and progress of team members.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experience .NET Developer who has experience managing and mentoring small teams of developers and introducing Best practices and development standards.
