Are you an experienced CNC Miller looking for a new opportunity in the Aerospace industry? Our client, a leading organisation in Fordhouses, Wolverhampton, is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join their team on a temporary contract basis. With a competitive hourly rate starting at £22.30, this 6-month assignment offers a chance to showcase your expertise and contribute to exciting projects in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a CNC Milling centre, following engineering drawings and process plans (preferably Okuma).
- Read and understand works orders, engineering drawings, material specifications, tool lists, and gauge lists necessary to complete a works order.
- Adhere to relevant quality procedures and requirements, participating in necessary events and investigations.
- Utilise appropriate measurement equipment and tools to perform required checks of relevant dimensions, recording results as necessary.
- Programme CNC machines when proving out new work, liaising with ME's and fellow operators. Training will be provided as required.
- Assess manufactured features for conformance to requirements and declare any non-conformances.
- Support the team and team leader in their objectives, actively participating in improvements.
- Aid in the continuous improvement deployment of ACE through active participation in Lean Events, Workshops, and Continuous Improvement activities.
Experience and Personal Characteristics:
- Must have qualifications equivalent to an NVQ Level 3 (with certificates to show as proof at the interview).
- Previous experience with CNC Milling, preferably with Okuma controls.
- Flexible approach with a willingness to work as part of a team, actively following operating principles and the Four Gears philosophy.
- Calm under pressure and responsive to change.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Enthusiastic and able to work on your own initiative.
- Knowledge of manufacturing activities, machining, and check/measurement skills to small tolerances (microns).
- Mechanical minded with experience in navigating technical drawings.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively within the working environment.
- Demonstrable problem-solving abilities.
- PC literacy.
