Part Time Company Accountant - Bath / Hybrid - Circa: £45,000 FTE

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been engaged by a new client, a high profile, rapidly expanding externally funded not-for-profit CIC. The organisation has tasked us with sourcing an experienced Company Accountant in a role that is likely to quickly develop. The role is offered on a part time, flexible arrangement working approximately 3-4 days per week and this employer is very open to hybrid working where required (and to suit both sides).
This will be a broad and interesting opportunity that will see the successful candidate developing the role and their own responsibilities by assuming many of the duties of the longstanding Managing Director (also acting as Finance Director). The role subsequently represents an excellent opportunity to a candidate looking to build on their experience but in a highly supported environment, ideally seeking to progress to Finance Director. The day-to-day bookkeeping and transactional processes are already efficiently serviced hence this role focusses on management and statutory reporting, budget control, forecasting and project asset management. Key responsibilities to include:
- Analysis and review of quarterly management accounts providing commentary and insight
- Oversee asset valuations
- Design, implement, and develop robust financial controls to match the organisation's growth aspirations
- Play a key role in budget setting and forecasting
- Supporting the MD on a range of funding projects, regularly liaising with external stakeholders
- Financial analysis
- Project expenses reporting, identifying areas of risk etc.
For this role we're seeking an experienced candidate, either part/fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by vocational experience (QBE). This is not a role for a "backoffice" member of the team, it's a role for a forward thinking, personable and dynamic individual who wants their opinion to be considered and ideas implemented. Suitable applicants should possess recently financial reporting exposure and ideally have experience in managing a small team. The company has invested heavily in the use of technology and confidence in using cloud-based accounting platforms would be preferable.
