Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pastoral Support Leader. In this role, you will provide vital support and guidance to individuals facing emotional, spiritual, and personal challenges. You will work closely with a diverse range of individuals, including students, employees, and community members, to help them navigate difficult situations and develop strategies for personal growth and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer empathetic and confidential support to individuals seeking guidance, including active listening and providing appropriate pastoral care.
  • Provide counseling and pastoral interventions to address emotional, spiritual, and personal issues.
  • Collaborate with other members of the pastoral team, including chaplains, counselors, and educators, to develop comprehensive support programs.
  • Conduct individual assessments to identify needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Organize and facilitate support groups, workshops, and training sessions to promote personal development and resilience.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of support sessions, adhering to privacy regulations.
  • Establish strong relationships with local community organizations and resources to enhance support options for individuals.
  • Stay updated on current trends and best practices in pastoral care and counseling through professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in providing pastoral care, counseling, or support services is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent listening skills, empathy, and sensitivity to the needs of others.
  • Solid understanding of ethical guidelines and boundaries related to pastoral care and counseling.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with various counseling techniques and therapeutic interventions.
  • Knowledge of religious and spiritual practices, with the ability to work effectively with individuals of different faiths or no religious affiliation.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software for record keeping and documentation.
