Hampshire Farmers' Markets has long supported local and rural farmers and businesses, offering advice, support and most importantly, a shop front for their produce.

Hampshire Farmers' Markets became an independent not for profit organisation in 2002 and the same year became accredited by FARMA(Farmers Retail & Markets Association).

Throughout the year HFM also organises and attends some of the best foodie festivals in the county.

We are looking to recruit a Market Administrator.

This is part time, permanent position, working 16 hours per week-set days can be negotiated. Must be able to attend a Market once a month on a Saturday or Sunday to complete audits. Mileage will be reimbursed.

Successful candidate will work remotely from home but will be required to attend regular meetings/markets at prearranged times and locations. Working days can be negotiated.

Role and responsibilities

  • First point of contact-receiving emails and telephone calls professionally.
  • Planning of weekly markets
  • Dealing with all member bookings for markets and festivals all year around.
  • Dealing with current members and new member applications.
  • Provide social media admin support.
  • Keeping Producer files up to date.
  • Preparation and issue of invoices as required.
  • Maintain internal databases.
  • Maintain outlook calendar.
  • Market for new producers to join markets remotely and face to face as required.
  • Attend meetings to record minutes when required.
  • Create marketing campaigns and marketing materials.
  • Providing administrative support to other departments or projects as needed.
  • Attending events at weekends to represent HFM and source new Traders.
  • Attend Markets when required to complete audits.
  • Business development.

Experience and skills required

  • At least 3 years' experience in administrative role.
  • Previous event and planning experience.
  • Experience using a variety of social media platforms and marketing tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem solving and great attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • IT literate with excellent typing skills and confident using a range of programmes including email, Microsoft office, in particular word and excel.
  • Time management skills and ability to come up with creative solutions to issues.
  • Ability to multitask and show initiative.
  • Excellent team working skills, with ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues, directors, and members on all levels.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness.
  • Hold UK Driving Licence and have own car.
