Event Manager

Our client, a global organisation and leader in the finance and technology sector, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Manager, with a strong passion for events planning and event production, to join their Team based in Central London. This is a 6-month temporary role with an immediate start date. For the right candidate there might be opportunities to apply a permanent position within the company.

The successful candidate will oversee series of events for Client's participation at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, including awards ceremonies, presentations, dinners, launches, and forums. The candidate will collaborate with marketing managers and stakeholders to integrate events with external partners, creating unique experiences that communicate organization's key messages, manage event budgets and lead the creative process for event production.

An ideal applicant should be a self-starter, results orientated, proactive individual with a track record of success in working within a fast-paced global organization. They should be able to lead and influence internal/external partners towards intended and successful results

International travel and flexibility in working hours during the events will be needed as you will be overseeing and managing series of events.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee series of events related to Client's participation at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, including but not limited to awards ceremonies, presentations, dinners, launches, and forums.
  • Utilize Client-specific tools, programs, and infrastructure to execute events efficiently.
  • Implement processes, standards, and measurements across all events to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Work with marketing program managers and stakeholders to integrate and deploy events with external partners (such as government agencies, conference organizers, and key associations) to create unique experiences that communicate our key messages.
  • Introduce customized, innovative ideas and solutions for events.
  • Lead the creative process for event invitations, in-person and virtual event production, audio-visual requirements, and more.
  • Manage projects involving multiple partners across different geographies and businesses, from inception to delivery.
  • Make sound independent decisions aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, negotiate with vendors, and ensure timely payments and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the project management of virtual events, including on-demand webcasts and live webinars.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of event/experiential planning
  • The ability to multi-task & work flexibly under tight deadlines
  • Operational project management experience
  • Ability to work successfully and efficiently with minimal supervision yet seeks and takes direction appropriately
  • Strong interpersonal skills and very effective working in a team environment
  • Track record of success working in and influencing a fast-paced, fast-growing global organization
  • High energy, problem solving, self-starter, results oriented, proactive individual with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to effectively lead and influence internal/external partners towards intended and successful results
  • Track record of working with external technical production vendors
