Skills & Logistics Centre Support Manager

Monday to Friday - 8.00 am - 4.00 pm

£15.00 per hour

The main purposes of the role are:

To ensure the smooth running of all support functions at the Skills and Logistics Centre ensuring

students, visitors and staff experience high quality services from reception, through enrolment and

throughout their time at the Skills and Logistics Centre.

This role will be a front of house role working alongside the Director Skills and Logistics Centre and

the Skills & Logistic Centre Manger to drive improvements forward across all College courses, at the

Skills and Logistics Centre.

To take a hands-on approach to ensuring all Business Support functions based at the Skills

and Logistics Centre are run effectively and provide a high quality service to parents, staff

and all partners.

To line manage all Business Support Staff in line with College policies and procedures,

ensuring the Skills and Logistics Centre is appropriately staffed at all times and provides all

students, visitors and staff with a safe and positive learning environment.

To work with the Skills Centre Manager to develop and deliver projects throughout the year

focussed on improving attendance, behaviour and standards and ensure these projects are

effectively communicated to students, parents, staff and all partners in line with cross-

College practice.

To work with cross-College teams to develop Apprenticeship roles and line-manage these

roles at the Skills and Logistics Centre in areas such as business administration, IT support,

maintenance and estates management, and teaching support.

To ensure the Student Security team provide and develop a comprehensive range of student

services including welfare and finance advice in addition to events including Open Days,

Freshers' Fair, and induction.

To lead the student enrolment process ensuring effective liaison with curriculum colleagues and managing the schedule for in-year interviewing and enrolment.

To manage the Skills and Logistics Centre budget and in liaison with the Finance team to ensure financial systems comply with the College financial regulations.

To implement training for Business Support staff on systems to collect and process cash, cheque and credit card payments, for example for tuition fees or equipment and use the student record database to accurately record all fees and payments and produce receipts.
