With over 40 years of experience in the vehicle leasing sector, our client is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the dedicated Finance team at their Nottingham site. This opportunity will see you join a well-known business in its sector with a great reputation in the region. As a multi-site business across the East Midlands, with Nottingham being their largest, this is an interesting role and is your chance to join a thriving business and contribute to a crucial area of their operations.

What you'll be doing...
- Collaborate with the Management Accountant and Finance Controller on various projects to manage the finance function.
- Process hourly paid payroll using SAGE50 Payroll software.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Perform general ledger cashbook posting and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with prepayments, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage warranty claim reconciliations.
- Prepare hourly paid payroll and related control account reconciliations.
- Oversee expenses and credit card functions.
- Support the purchase ledger clerk with complex queries and supplier statement reconciliations.
- Provide holiday cover for other team members, including sales and purchase ledger tasks.
- Assist in the implementation of new business systems and additional technology across the finance function.
- Lead or support ad hoc tasks and projects for the Management Accountant and Financial Controller.
What you're like...
- 2-3 years' experience in a similar accounting role
- Part or fully AAT Qualified
- Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry would be beneficial (but not essential)
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, being able to prioritise your own workload and respond to competing priorities while supporting the team during busier periods
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Package: £25,000 - £29,000 per year
