Assistant Engineering Manager

This role is pivotal in managing and coordinating the maintenance of fully automated production machinery and associated raw material processing equipment. You will also play a key role in the site's Health and Safety Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the current maintenance team.
  • Oversee the Planned Preventative Maintenance scheme.
  • Maintain and enhance Health and Safety Systems.
  • Identify and propose process improvements.
  • Justify, implement, and appraise small-scale improvement projects.
  • Manage spare part stock and procurement.

Key Requirements:

  • HNC level education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Ability to evaluate mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical systems to identify performance and diagnose faults.
  • Understand process and equipment measurements to evaluate performance.
  • Prioritise and plan work demand effectively.
  • Maintain and update personal technical knowledge of engineering systems.
  • Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new ideas.
  • Show high levels of commercial awareness and product appreciation.
