SEND Learning Support Assistant

Tradewind are supporting a two-form entry Nelson-based primary school in recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant. This is a full-time role starting in September working full time 32.5 hours per week until July 2025 with the potential of going permanent. For this role the pay is £11.95 - £13.95 per hour dependant on experience.

The school is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in KS1 & KS2 who require small group support and 1:1 support. To be considered for this position you must have a proven track record of supporting pupils who require special needs developmental support; have strong interpersonal skills; be able to engage pupils and differentiate work according to academic levels and a clear understanding of SEND-based learning.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • NVQ level 2 qualification
  • Experience of working with Autism and Speech and Language difficulties
  • SEN experience
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom environment
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
