Our client, a leading law firm in the South East, are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Legal Assistant to join their dynamic Private Client team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in Court of Protection matters to thrive in a client-facing, fast-paced role, supporting fee earners in delivering exceptional service.
As a Legal Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, the administration of estates and trusts, and navigating the Court of Protection process. You will be working closely with clients and solicitors to ensure seamless management of cases, with a focus on empathy and understanding.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting fee earners with drafting Wills, LPAs, and completing Inheritance Tax forms.
- Supporting clients through the probate process and management of affairs, including applications for deputyship and Court of Protection matters.
- Maintaining accurate records, managing original documents, and being proactive in administering estates.
- Your ability to connect with clients, particularly in sensitive situations like bereavement or loss of capacity, will be essential to the role. You'll need strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
They are looking for someone who is confident using Microsoft Office, has a typing speed of at least 60 wpm, and has prior experience working within a Private Client team, especially in Court of Protection matters.
