Overview:
Come and be part of a community working together to make science better.
You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship.

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 per annum.

Main role / Responsibilities [will include but not be limited to]:

  • Work to investigate incidents, identify root causes and fix or assign to the right area
  • Create designs for solutions in the product team, based on analysis of customer requirements
  • Assist with the maintenance and support of infrastructure and maintain various SaaS (Software as a Service) systems
  • Maintain AWS (or similar provider) to configure services, set up permissions and deploy software
  • Design, maintain and configure the databases that make up the IOPP software landscape
  • Design, maintain and contribute to the automated test suits
  • Support agile ways of working and participate actively in sprint reviews and retrospectives and set up and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Assist in the reduction of TOIL through automation. Contribute to Incident Management process through investigating and fixing issues

What we are looking for:
Desirable skills:

  • Comfort with mart design and ETL/ELT and getting data from various sources (Files / API's)
  • Knowledge of source control and CI/CD practices

Essential / personal qualities:

  • Proven ability to work as both part of a team and independently
  • Ability to program in at least one language (e.g. C#, JavaScript, Python)
  • Knowledge of SQL programming
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (or similar)

Entry requirements:
Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:

  • 5 GCSE's, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:
Monday to Friday,
9am - 5pm,
35hrs a week.
