We are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team in Colchester. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial aspects of civil engineering and highway projects. Your expertise in NEC forms of contract will be essential in ensuring successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Project Cost Management: Oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contract Administration: Manage NEC contracts, including preparation, negotiation, and administration.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate project risks related to cost, contracts, and commercial aspects.
- Procurement: Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials, subcontractors, and services.
- Claims and Disputes: Handle claims, variations, and disputes arising from contracts.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
Qualifications
- RICS Chartered Surveyor: Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on civil engineering and highways.
- NEC Expertise: Proficiency in working with NEC forms of contract, including NEC3 or NEC4.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
