Here at Graham & Brown an exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Graphic Designer to join the team, based in Blackburn. You will join us on a full-time basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £22,451 to £28,064 per annum.

As our Graphic Designer, you will create, edit, quick separate and colour designs on CAD and other general studio duties for design presentation. You will work as an integral part of our design studio, who collectively work across origination, separation and pre-production, delivering over 500 designs to digital and analogue production per year.

Our Graphic Designer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Preparing accurate and inspirational assets for various decorating and home furnishing products, through manipulation of digital and photographic imagery.
  • Design and layout of artwork for a varied mix of digital advertising and campaign briefs.
  • Assisting with creation and editing of short form video content for social media and digital advertising, ownership of brand graphics.
  • Creatively interpreting style guidelines for various brands and working with stakeholders both internal and external to ensure consistency between different brand touch points.
  • Designing beautiful editorial layouts and manipulating lifestyle imagery in response to PR requests and outreach plans.
  • Supporting our retail partners in improving their instore and webstore environments in order to maximise sales, through designed collateral as well as merchandising layout concepts.
  • Working with internal and external printers to ensure physical collateral is beautifully delivered.
  • Supporting the efficiency of our business by ensuring assets and artwork templates are filed correctly and made available to all relevant teams both internal and external.

Experience and skills required by our Graphic Designer:

  • Strong competence of Adobe Creative Cloud software, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Strong experience of After Effects or similar software, and motion graphics techniques.
  • Strong image manipulation and retouching skills or a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Experience in a graphic design role, with portfolio of work demonstrating a variety of skills and styles.
  • A proactive attitude to learning new skills, both autonomously and with support from colleagues.
  • Experience of exporting artwork for different mediums, including web and print.
  • Self-motivated, helpful in nature and able to work independently on your own initiative.
  • Ability to take feedback and implement amends in a timely fashion.
  • An enthusiastic and outgoing personality, with the confidence and ability to articulate your ideas.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software and platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail
