Network Engineer – Rochdale – £50,000 - £52,000 + Benefits
We're partnered with a growing ISP who are looking to recruit 2 talented Network Engineers with a strong Core Networking / MPLS and BGP skills. The new recruits will join a team of 10 Network Engineers as part of a project team. The role is 80% projects and 20% BAU (escalated from NOX).
The successful Network Engineer will be required to work in the office 1 day a week and then has the choice to work remotely for the other 4 days.
You'll play a critical role in their large Data Centre migration project – this is a full roll out of a brand new Data Centre and decommissioning of old networks.
Experience required for the Network Engineer:
- Experience working in an ISP, Telco or other Managed Services environment
- Familiar working in Data Centre and Openreach Exchange environments.
- Excellent knowledge across routing & switching
- An understanding of ITIL would be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of automation across Ansible and/or Python
- Experience of writing technical documentation
Technical Skills - Essential
- Working towards CCNP/JNCIS or equivalent level of knowledge
- Good troubleshooting and network diagnostic skills.
- Experience operating a network using BGP, MPLS, IS-IS and OSFP
- Experience in working with graphing and monitoring platforms.
