Our client is part of a prestigious global engineering group who are considered as the market leader. Specifically, they design, develop and manufacture bespoke equipment and automation for the aerospace industry (please contact JMT for more detail).

Experience / Background Required:

  • Management or supervisory experience of a workshop or Mechanical Fitters.
  • Proven mechanical fitting / production experience acquired within an engineering environment.
  • Able to read technical drawings.
  • High levels of attention to detail with the ability to read, understand and follow technical drawings.
  • Positive approach / attitude to customer service (both internal and external customers).
  • Good with workload management with the ability to react positively to changing demands.
  • Interpersonal skills including good spoken and hand-written communication.
  • Adequate level of physical fitness, mobility and dexterity for fitting and customer training.

The role of Workshop Manager:

  • Manage the day-to-day work of the Fitting team, planning their workload.
  • Conduct appraisals of the team, and manage the recruitment of the team.
  • Prepare, fit and repair component parts and equipment including all aspects of metal-work, hand / power tools and typical workshop equipment.
  • Ownership of production quality checks before distribution or progressing to another department

acting as a witness when required.

  • React quickly to changing demands, re-prioritise own workload as required based on production

and sales information.
