Financial fraud investigator

Sanctuary Personnel are looking for a financial fraud investigator to work with Enfield council. This is a full-time position, and we are paying £23.45 Paye and £29.02 Umbrella per hour for this role.

The role:

Undertake fraud investigations, particularly but not limited to providers of exempt accommodation, inter-company links, profits, asset locks, contrived tenancies. This will include working with the Council's partner organisations and organisations providing services to the Council.

To lead and quality assure the approach, gathering of evidence and documentation of investigations so that all material is of sufficient standard to be admissible evidence in internal disciplinary or other hearings, and to the police, Courts, tribunals and review or appeal bodies, as appropriate.

To play a key role in developing and delivering the Council's counter fraud business plan, allocating, supervising, and participating in counter fraud initiatives, including proactive and preventative anti-fraud reviews, delivering training, providing advice and the completion of targeted anti-fraud work

Key Responsibilities:

The post holder will need to liaise and consult with all levels of management, including senior officers throughout the Council as required in the preparation and performance of investigations

The post holder will need to liaise with other members of staff in the Financial Assessment Service and Internal Audit and Risk Management Service.

The post holder will need to work closely with the Counter Fraud team to develop and deliver both planned and reactive investigations, providing information on the completion of assignments, and/or issues arising from the assignments and to ensure consistency in the operational management of the Counter Fraud Investigators.

The post holder will need to liaise and co-operate with other public sector bodies, the police, partners, and other organisations on operational and other matters.

The post holder will be required to liaise with and interview external stakeholders and contacts, for example residents, housing associations, school staff and governors etc.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs A-C or equivalent including at least English and Maths.

Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 36 hours p/w.
