About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic business developer to play a pivotal role in growing our rapid grocery delivery network across the South West. You'll work alongside a talented team of BDMs and RDMs, supporting our symbol partners as they embrace and grow within the rapid delivery market.

Your role won't just be about numbers - it'll be about building strong, lasting partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and helping retailers thrive in a digital-first world.

You will be responsible for

  • Growing the Network: Proactively identify, recruit, and onboard top-performing symbol stores that align with our vision and criteria.
  • Driving Performance: Achieve and exceed KPIs by developing tailored sales and marketing strategies to increase order volume, average basket value, and profitability via the Scoot platform.
  • Building Partnerships: Develop trusted, productive relationships with our retailers, providing ongoing support, insights, and guidance to help them grow.
  • Using Data to Unlock Growth: Analyse sales, delivery performance, and customer data to identify trends and create actionable growth strategies for each store.
  • Problem-Solving Collaboratively: Work closely with internal teams and retailers to address operational challenges and enhance the Scoot experience for both retailers and customers.
  • Championing Best Practice: Share learnings and successes with your BDM colleagues, helping to shape and refine our national approach.
  • Staying Ahead of the Market: Keep up to date with the rapid grocery delivery landscape, bringing fresh ideas and sector intelligence to drive continuous improvement.

You will need

  • Grocery Retail Expertise: You know the grocery sector inside out and have a track record of driving commercial success in retail or wholesale environments.
  • Strong Stakeholder Management: Experienced in building high-impact relationships with business owners, managers, and decision-makers in B2B settings.
  • Data-Led Decision Making: Confident in managing KPIs, business metrics, and using insights to fuel strategy and performance conversations.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Clear, concise, and engaging whether you're presenting results, influencing a retailer, or collaborating with internal teams.
  • Natural Relationship Builder: Able to quickly establish trust, credibility, and rapport with a wide range of people.
  • Proactive & Solutions-Focused: Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude and a knack for spotting opportunities and solving problems.
  • Sector Knowledge: Familiar with the rapid grocery delivery landscape and the challenges and opportunities it presents for independent retailers.
