Are you a dynamic and experienced

Employment Law Solicitor

looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a solicitor with strong technical knowledge and a commercial mindset to independently manage and run employment law litigation claims.

Join our well-established solicitor's firm, where you will handle a variety of

respondent and claimant matters

, with cases ranging from

ACAS Early Conciliation

to final hearings. You will be responsible for a small caseload that includes both privately funded and insurance-backed claims, working alongside an HR consultancy to deliver expert legal services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Independently manage a small but diverse caseload of employment law claims, ensuring efficiency and effective handling from inception to conclusion.

  • Litigation: Manage all aspects of employment law litigation, including:

  • Drafting pleadings, statements of case, and witness statements.

  • Attending Preliminary Hearings (PHRs) and Case Management Discussions (CMDs).

  • Conducting settlement negotiations and advising clients on outcomes.

  • Managing disclosure processes, including electronic and manual document review.

  • Client Interaction: Provide clear, concise, and commercially-focused advice to clients, maintaining strong communication throughout.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with legal colleagues and HR consultants to ensure cohesive case strategies.

  • Stay Updated: Keep up to date with employment law developments to provide high-quality legal services.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a valid Practicing Certificate.

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing employment law claims and familiarity with tribunal procedures.

  • Skills:

  • Strong technical legal knowledge with practical application.

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver practical solutions to clients.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly.

  • Flexibility: Adaptable to hybrid working arrangements and flexible hours.
