Dovetail and Slate are currently working with a brilliant SEN school who are looking for an English teacher to join their department on a full time basis- !!TEMP TO PERM!!
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified English Teacher to join our team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This position is ideal for experienced teachers who are passionate about working with students with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
- Student Population: Mostly students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), along with some cases of anxiety, ADHD, and ADD. The school has a significant number of students with behavioural issues. Behavioural support is in place to assist.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or similar qualification is required.
- Experience: Candidates can come from a mainstream background but must have experience or a strong interest in SEN. ECTs (Early Career Teachers) will be considered only if they have specific experience with SEN. It is also desirable to have a minimum of two years experience as an English Teacher.
- Availability: Immediate start preferred, or by September at the latest.
- Contract: 16 weeks temporary with the potential for a permanent position thereafter.

- Interviews: Initial interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. Successful candidates will then be invited to visit the school for a tour. A micro-teaching session may be requested but is not always required.
