Finance Director

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Director to join a friendly team working within the newly acquired South West office. This is a growing company and team so there is a fantastic opportunity for the right person!

This role requires someone with a substantial financial background as well as experience in a construction or building related industry. This is a deal breaker for this role - please only apply if you meet this requirement.

The purpose of the role will include;

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of all aspects of financial reporting including delivering month end, prepare/ review of journals, reconciliations, ad-hoc management accounts and monthly management accounts with P&L as well as variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain necessary controls, policies and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient financial management.
  • Prepare the long term forecasts, budgets and over see the short-term cashflow forecast.
  • Review and audit of all processes completed by the Finance manager to ensure all day to day activities are compliant with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure all statutory deadlines are met; including managing the year end audit process & preparation of the financial statements.
  • Working alongside the Construction, Engineering, Technical, Commercial and Sales teams to update on a monthly basis, providing robust challenge where appropriate.
  • Ownership of the preparation of the finance section of the monthly board pack.
  • Ownership of the preparation of the monthly profit forecast.
  • Line management of the Finance Manager and any subsequent additions to the team.
  • Project work relating to ongoing and newly acquired projects..
  • Work closely and directly with the CEO and the board to ensure the financial direction of the company is profitable, compliant and robust.

About You

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

ACA,ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent with substantial experience in the Number 1 seat.

Strong academic background.

Excellent attention to detail.

Proven leadership and staff management skills.

Excellent communication, relationship management and presentation skills.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
