Role: Head of Logistics - FMCG

Location: Surrey/Hybrid - (25 minute direct train from Waterloo)

Salary: up to £75,000 + car allowance + bonus (possibly some flexibility - please still apply if looking for 10% more)

Join our client's dynamic team as the Head of Logistics, overseeing all International Freight operations between EU sites and the UK. This pivotal role ensures cost and service targets are met while driving logistics processes to support business growth. Lead a team in managing outsourced logistics activities, optimising warehousing and distribution. Be at the forefront of developing a sustainability mindset within the team and with providers.

Responsibilities for the position of Head of Logistics

  • Manage primary logistics functions for imports and exports, including over 16,000 container movements annually.
  • Lead a £30m budget for primary and direct freight, implementing cost-effective solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with international freight partners and 3PLs, ensuring excellent OTIF levels.
  • Strategically manage inbound freight, optimising transport methods and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Oversee reverse logistics to ensure timely return of empty kegs and streamline customs management processes.
  • Drive customer initiatives, recommending and implementing solutions to enhance service delivery.

Experience Required for the position of Head of Logistics

  • Proven experience in supply chain management within the FMCG industry (food, beverage, cosmetics, pharma)
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills with multiple suppliers.
  • Previous people management experience and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, with system experience in ERP (SAP desirable).
  • Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement and cost savings.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of European languages advantageous.
