Able Bridge Recruitment are thrilled to be working with a truly unique and highly prestigious organisation in the highlands of Scotland in the recruitment of a Head of Enterprise and Commercial Services.
This role would suit an individual who is at one with nature and who is keen to be working in a rural location on a hybrid basis.
Our client has approached us as they currently have a newly created role which will report into the board, this role will sit within the leadership team and be accountable for the direct line management of an established team.
The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to strategically plan, monitor and oversee all commercial activities revolving around scientific research and the products that are delivered in the back of the research. You will be dealing with clients externally (new & existing), technical subject matter experts internally and cross departmental groups to drive the strategic plan.
On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the enterprise team.
Build strong relationships with fellow colleagues in areas such as business department, proposals management with a view to business growth.
Identification of commercial opportunities by meeting with research teams and guiding them on collaboration and integration.
Work closely with head of finance and a dedicated enterprise business partner in the monitoring of budgets and financial performance.
Asses business plan activities to identify the commercial integrity of how they feed into the widder business strategy.
The Requirements
We are seeking an individual who has extensive experience in developing and delivering successful commercial activities. Prior experience of managing the sales and marketing functions within an organisation are paramount as is the ability to lead by example. You will be involved in a wide range of tasks raging from general management to budgeting, forecasting, risk management, business to business sales and service delivery as well as being involved in patens for intellectual property. The ideal candidate will have a Science background and potentially will have worked in either the higher education space or similar environment.

Our client will be expecting the successful applicant to be based in the office on a blended working model, the model that we are working with is 60% in the office and 40% working at home, however this may change and you may be expected to work more often in the office. If, however, applicants wish to work longer in the office the option is available to them.
