Our client is a leading provider of comprehensive building services and construction solutions, specialising in delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including healthcare, commercial, residential, education, and industrial.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a HSEQ Advisor to join their team. As HSEQ Advisor within our clients business, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees, contractors, and visitors on sites. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and monitor effective health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry standards. You will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all building services operations.

HSEQ Advisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all company operations comply with local, state, and national health and safety regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments across all sites, identifying potential hazards, and developing mitigation strategies. Ensure that all risk assessments are documented, reviewed, and communicated effectively.
  • Develop, review, and update health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensure these are effectively communicated and implemented across all teams.
  • Lead investigations into any workplace accidents, incidents, or near misses. Prepare detailed reports, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Design and deliver health and safety training programs for employees and contractors. Ensure all personnel are aware of their responsibilities and are equipped with the knowledge to work safely.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards. Identify any non-compliance issues and work with site management to address them promptly.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Ensure all employees are trained in emergency protocols and conduct regular drills.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all health and safety activities, including risk assessments, incident reports, and training logs. Provide regular reports to senior management on health and safety performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new regulations, and best practices. Proactively seek out opportunities to improve the company's health and safety performance.

HSEQ Advisor

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the construction or building services industry.
  • Minimum NEBOSH general certificate, or other formal H&S qualifications
  • PTS qualified
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, risk management, and safety management systems. Familiarity with construction and building services processes is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • This role may require frequent travel to various sites.
  • Must be able to work in diverse environments, including office settings and active construction sites.
