About the Role:

As an IT Technician, you'll be the go-to expert for all things tech, ensuring smooth operations and productivity for our team. You'll provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to both schools and businesses, making experience in these sectors highly desirable. A positive attitude and alignment with our company ethos are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for computer hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems efficiently.
  • Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like system updates, backups, and security patches.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with company policies.
  • Respond to IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate escalation.
  • Document technical procedures and troubleshooting steps for reference and training.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on projects and initiatives.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 year's experience as an IT Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and resolving problems.
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • Experience with system administration tasks, including user account management, Active Directory, and group policies.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for maintenance, upgrades, or emergencies.
