A well established accounting firm in Gateshead are looking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper on a part-time basis.
You will need to have experience of bookkeeping either from an accounting practice environment where you are looking after the accounts of multiple businesses, alternatively have looked after your own portfolio of bookkeeping clients and looking to supplement your income with more work.
Working with SME and OMB clients you will be responsible fro liaising with the business owners, gathering the relevant documents and information to complete all stages of bookkeeping including VAT returns ready for the year end accounts preparation. With the use of cloud software such as Sage and Xero there is little need to attend clients offices, although this may be required from time to time. You will need to be a competent user of such packages.
Whilst experience is the most important, an AAT qualification would be advantageous and you must be able to demonstrate your ability to communicate well to clients.
The role is offered on a hybrid basis and in time can shift more towards being home based, however during probation it is important you can access the office to get to understand the role and company culture.
The position is available between 18-30 hours each week with flexible hours. Parking is available on site.
