Finance Director - Sales Promotion Agency

Main duties

FINANCIAL CONTROL

  • Ensure an effective and efficient control environment is operating throughout the business, ensuring that adequate controls are in place to meet the compliance requirements of the business
  • Ensure the business has adequate liquidity to meet current and future cash commitments and engage with Treasury on funding requirements
  • Cashflow forecast and management of multiple currencies and cash funding for UK and foreign subsidiaries
  • Accountability for month end and periodic management accounts reporting that accurately reflects the business' trading performance supporting decision making and resource allocation
  • Accountability for the annual external audit process for the business, ensuring there are no material adjustments
  • Work with operational teams to improve processes, business systems and data flows to support delivery of the business strategy
  • Play a lead role in the automation of financial and business processes to support the growth of the business
  • Manage relationships with third party advisors including tax and audit teams across multiple territories
  • Provide advice to the business on tax and associated compliance and risk issues as well as ensuring an efficient structure for the business that supports its growth plans
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and ensure compliance and that are supported by efficient processes and systems
  • Management and development of the finance team including driving process change and efficient transactional processing
  • Annual insurance renewal programme input including PI and other business insurances

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE

  • Accountable for the consolidated annual budget and presentation for approval to board
  • Target setting and modelling for Sales and Delivery teams as well as tracking KPIs throughout year
  • Commission modelling and accountability for the sales teams plans
  • Accountable for the fair and reasonable allocation of resource and activity based costs to assist with analysis of true project profitability
  • Provide both short and long-term financial forecasts and financial plan modelling based on the business performance and strategy
  • Actively involved in the decision making around delivery resource
  • Work with Commercial and other departments in the creation and review of strategic plans to ensure they are commercially viable and are in line with the overall objectives for the division
  • Provide leadership to deliver the strategy by articulating a vision and directing action towards achievement of approved goals
  • Support Halo business unit with financial, commercial and strategic leadership as well as reviewing deals, pricing and insurance placement
  • Support the Commercial team with input to pricing, analysis and acting in an advisory capacity to reduce risk and improve profitability

Skills and experience

  • Experience in a leadership role and exposure to both commercial and financial control elements of a finance function
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to positively influence key stakeholders both internal and external to the business
  • Demonstrated analytical, reporting and a strategic view
  • Ability to process information quickly and a strong mathematical and accounting background
  • Track record of process improvement and automation with a focus on using systems to solve business problems
  • Hands on leadership and ability to drill down into the detail
  • High level of initiative, self-motivation and pride in work output
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels and to communicate with technical staff across multiple disciplines eg digital, legal
