You'll lead a skilled maintenance team and collaborate closely with production to minimise downtime and enhance overall performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance of all critical plant and machinery, including both reactive and preventive tasks
- Lead the planning and implementation of scheduled maintenance activities to optimise operational uptime
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to troubleshoot recurring issues and implement corrective actions
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are documented accurately, maintaining up-to-date records for audits and operational transparency
- Manage and coordinate external contractors for specialist maintenance or major overhauls, ensuring all work is completed to high safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to manufacturing processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Take responsibility for safety protocols, ensuring all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Train, mentor, and lead a team of maintenance engineers, fostering a culture of teamwork and technical excellence
- Participate in the design, upgrade, installation, and relocation of machinery as required, ensuring all equipment operates to optimal standards
Person Specification
- A recognised engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical), with strong multiskilled knowledge
- Proven experience in a senior maintenance role, ideally within a heavy industry or similar manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of reactive and planned maintenance practices
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices in maintenance
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to working with cross-functional teams
