Position Overview:
Are you a driven and dynamic sales professional? Do you have a knack for identifying opportunities and closing deals? If so, we want you to join our team as a Business Development Manager. You will be the face of their company to potential clients, building relationships, crafting compelling proposals, and winning new business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Use your sales expertise to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in the structural steel fabrication market. Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Build Strong Client Relationships: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the construction, engineering, and architectural sectors. Understand their needs and position as their preferred partner.
  • Create Compelling Proposals: Collaborate with our technical and engineering teams to create persuasive proposals and presentations that highlight our capabilities, experience, and unique value proposition.
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Keep your finger on the pulse of the market by staying informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities. Use this knowledge to refine our business development strategy and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and production, to ensure seamless project delivery from start to finish. Your input will be crucial in aligning client expectations with our execution capabilities.
  • Represent Us in the Market: Act as an ambassador at industry events, trade shows, and conferences. Network with potential clients, partners, and industry influencers to build our brand and uncover new opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Proven Sales Track Record: 3+ years of business development or sales experience, with a proven track record of securing and managing large-scale projects.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Additional certifications in sales or industry-specific courses are a plus.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations and effectively communicate with clients at all levels.
  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analyse market trends to identify and capitalise on new opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: A natural relationship builder with a strong network in the construction and engineering sectors. Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term, profitable client relationships.
  • Self-Driven and Results-Oriented: Highly motivated, with a strong desire to succeed and a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Willingness to Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients, attend industry events, and represent the company as needed.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes, construction drawings, and steel components (including widgets). Ability to quickly interpret technical drawings and provide insightful recommendations - DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
