The Food Safety and Quality Technician Role:

As a leading sports nutrition and health food manufacturer, we proudly produce a wide range of products within our manufacturing facility, including powders, capsules, tablets, and soft gels.

As Food Safety & Quality Technician (Raw Materials), you will work closely with the operations team to ensure raw materials released to manufacturing meet rigorous FSQ standards. Reporting to our Supplier Quality Assurance Lead, you will monitor the FSQ of raw materials and support our programmes for BRC implementation.

What your day-to-day might look like:

+ Performing aseptic raw material sampling in strict accordance with quality management
+ Conducting organoleptic assessments of raw materials as necessary
+ Maintaining rigorous control over sampled products during the positive release process
+ Utilising NIR (Near InfraRed) Technology for comprehensive raw material assessments
+ Thoroughly reviewing certificates of analysis for raw material deliveries to confirm compliance with release criteria and specifications
+ Completing organoleptic evaluations of final products
+ Recording and meticulously tracking all results and findings
+ Promptly escalating any Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) issues as they arise
+ Identifying and raising non-conformances
+ Ensuring retained samples are stored in a manner that facilitates easy retrieval in case of product inquiries
+ Collaborating with teams to efficiently resolve any stock placed on hold or in quarantine
+ Providing necessary support to the FSQ Team as required

About you:

+ Foundational Food Safety and HACCP qualifications, with an ideal preference for Level 3 certification or its equivalent
+ Demonstrates keen attention to detail in all tasks and processes
+ Exhibits strong communication skills and thrives as a collaborative team player
+ Takes a proactive approach to problem-solving, anticipating and addressing issues efficiently
+ Capable of effectively prioritising workload to meet deadlines and objectives
+ Proficient in computer usage and digital literacy
