Fire Risk Assessor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire Risk Assessor to join a rapidly growing Fire Safety, Health and Safety, and Environmental Consultancy, working across the residential and commercial property sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert fire safety consultancy advice to prestigious clients across the UK, including multi-site organisations in the property management, retail, and service industries.

As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive, pragmatic advice and reports that help clients reduce fire risk across their portfolios. You will work directly with clients, taking ownership of fire safety consultancy projects, ensuring best practices and regulations are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fire risk assessments for both commercial and residential properties (Types 1-4).
  • Develop fire strategies for complex properties and perform passive fire protection surveys.
  • Provide clear, expert fire safety advice and recommendations to clients.
  • Have a sound understanding of relevant Building Regulations and Approved Documents.
  • Work towards or hold recognised third-party fire risk assessment accreditation.
  • Apply engineering principles, codes, and expert judgement to protect people from the effects of fire.
  • Design, install, and maintain fire detection, suppression, and control systems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years' experience in fire risk assessments, ideally within the property sector.
  • Experience in both commercial and residential fire risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with the design, construction, and layout principles for fire safety.
  • Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or willingness to achieve a formal H&S qualification.
  • Strong understanding of fire hazards, risks, and mitigation strategies.
