Assistant Chef
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £24,294 - £25,119 per annum (Pro Rata)
Hours: Part time, term time only plus specified days
Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.
The Council have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chef's and chef's working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.

The Role
An opportunity exists for suitable individuals to work within the Facility Operations as an Assistant Chef at Kingston Park Primary School.
Skills & Experience
They are currently looking for reliable and friendly people with a positive attitude to join their team as an Assistant Chef. It is desirable you have NVQ level 2 or City & Guilds catering qualification however a minimum of 3 years' experience of working within a catering environment is essential.
They are looking for someone who:
- Has a Level 2 in Food Safety in Catering
- Able to deliver high standards of meal production and service
- Is a team player but able to use your own initiative
- Can have good relationships with others
- Is self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines
- Can work flexible hours including occasional evening and school holidays
- Is customer focused
- Has experience of working in a catering environment
