Group Payroll & Benefits Manager

Uniserve is seeking a highly organised and experienced Group Payroll and Benefits Manager to join our team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

About the Role:

In this crucial role, you'll be responsible for the smooth running of all our payroll and benefits functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. You'll manage the UK payroll team (working with a third-party provider) and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for our international offices in Ireland, Germany, China, and India (handled by local providers).

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee the payroll team and ensure accurate and timely UK payroll processing.
  • Liaise with outsourced payroll providers for both UK and international functions.
  • Manage benefits administration, including Private Medical Insurance, Travel Insurance, and Company Cars.
  • Support internal audits and complete P11Ds for smaller Group payrolls.
  • Provide first-line support to employees, managers, and senior leaders on payroll and benefits.
  • Collaborate with Accounts, Finance, and other departments.
  • Maintain data confidentiality and accuracy in accordance with GDPR.
  • Stay updated on statutory and legislative regulations for both UK and international payroll.
  • Optimise payroll processes for efficiency.
  • Generate reports for Finance, Accounts, and senior stakeholders.

Who You Are:

  • You have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a Payroll and Benefits Manager or similar role.
  • Experience liaising with payroll providers is essential.
  • You possess strong UK payroll knowledge with international knowledge a plus.
  • You have a deep understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • You are proficient in IT, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • You are a self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines.
  • You possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • You are a strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • You can handle sensitive information with discretion.
