Tradewind Recruitment are working alongside a Secondary PRU in Westminster for 11- to 16-year-olds with social, emotional and mental health challenges. Pupils are taught in small form groups of generally no more than six pupils, with a high ratio of support from specialist teachers, learning assistants and pastoral mentors. Their pupils access a broad and balanced personalised curriculum that includes a strong emphasis on literacy skills, personal development, academic subjects and vocational courses.
The PRU aims to provide the pupils who have been sent from various Secondary Schools in Westminster with the tools and resources they need to make a positive transition into mainstream schools or work. The aim is to reintegrate students back into mainstream schools, or support their transition into post-16 education, employment or training.
You are perfect for this role if:
- Have a passion for making a positive impact on individuals' lives
- Are studying social work or teaching and need hands-on experience
- Possess a genuine desire to understand and address unique challenges faced by individuals
- Collaborate effectively with professionals and students
- Bring empathy, creativity, and dedication to your work
Ideal but not Essential
- You have experience supporting young people with mental health difficulties
- Previous TA, LSA or support work within a school, PRU, Alternative Provision or other child related experience.
- Open-minded, positive and friendly approach.
- A caring and professional manner.
- Must have legal right to work in the UK.
