Butler Rose is excited to be working with this growing SME as they expand their finance function with an additional Financial Controller.
This role is critical in supporting expanding operations, ensuring robust financial management, and enhancing strategic financial capabilities. Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a highly varied, hands-on role and a great opportunity to join this thriving organisation!
A role that would suit someone naturally analytical this is a position that requires an accountant who is adept at utilising data to tell the story behind the numbers! You will be experienced at really delving into the detail, creating reports that analyse the figures to aid decision making and an Excel whizz!
Responsibilities include:
- Providing financial analysis and insight to support business decision-making - Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying trends and making recommendations- Support the annual budgeting process and provide periodic forecasts. - Analyse budget variances and provide insights and recommendations for corrective actions - Manage all accounting operations including Billing, AR, AP, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Collaborate with the existing Financial Controller to oversee the preparation and publication of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger. - Lead and support on Finance improvement projects across the wider business - Oversee tax matters, coordinating with internal and external tax advisors - Coordinate the preparation and management of external audits You will ideally be working towards or have a finance qualification (AAT/CIMA/ACCA) although not essentialTo be successful in this role it is ESSENTIAL that you have the following skills: - Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting - Strong confidence with Excel - Meticulous attention to detail - Previous experience within a fast paced and changing SME environment
