An experienced third-line IT Support, Field, and Projects Engineer is needed to join our MSP team at Serval IT, which supports IT infrastructures for multiple clients across the region based in East Grinstead on a full-time basis.
The role involves using high-quality tools, working in an office-based team, and addressing varied challenges with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
Candidates must be good communicators, clear thinkers, and friendly people. Broad experience is valued, especially in managing IT for organisations with 50-500 users and varying needs.
You'll be the kind of person who can drop into a situation and improve it, finding resolutions and workarounds as you go. You'll need to travel to client sites in the region when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand your client's IT infrastructures and make changes safely and effectively to meet their business goals (whether remotely or on-site)
- Handle issues escalated to you from the Service Team
- Complete technical design, delivery and documentation of projects and infrastructures for your clients
Required Skills:
- Ability to work on your own initiative as well as support the team
- Good communication skills, including with organisation leaders
- Ability to problem solve in a logical manner
- Be efficient, well-organised, and able to prioritise
- Able to manage projects, update stakeholders, and manage risk
- Full Driving Licence
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of experience managing, changing, and operating IT infrastructures for organisations with 50-500 IT users
- Maths and English qualifications equivalent to GCSE C or above
- CompTIA qualifications, past apprenticeship success
- Vendor qualifications from Microsoft, Citrix, Sophos, Cisco, Veeam
Desirable Experience:
- Delivering multiple IT infrastructure change projects in a Microsoft-based operating environment
- Cloud services such as Microsoft 365, operating/delivering modern workplace services and tools
- Virtual Apps and Desktops (Citrix, Microsoft)
- Microsoft Exchange (all supported versions)
- Microsoft Active Directory/Authentication
- Virtualisation knowledge - Hyper-V/XenServer /VMWare
- Local and wide-area networking
- VoIP systems
