Part-Time Nanny Roles - Harpenden / Wheathampstead
Flexible | Weekday Afternoons | Starting September | Paid Training Provided
£14.50-£17+ per hour depending on experience + mileage

Are you looking for rewarding, part-time work that fits around your studies, freelance work, or family life? Do you love working with children and want to be a valued part of a family's day-to-day life? We're looking for kind, reliable, and enthusiastic people to join our team of after-school nannies in Harpenden and Wheathampstead.

What the role involves:

  • Collecting children from school and caring for them in their family home
  • Creating a warm, fun, and engaging environment after school
  • Helping with snacks, homework, and getting children to any after-school activities (mileage paid)
  • Working regularly with the same family so you really get to know the children

Who this would suit:

We welcome applications from a variety of people, including:

  • University students (e.g. from University of Bedfordshire or Hertfordshire) - especially if you've babysat, worked in holiday camps, or just enjoy being with children
  • Teaching assistants or those with school-based experience looking for extra income
  • Local mums or carers with older children, looking to re-enter work or top up income
  • Freelancers, creatives or part-time workers wanting something meaningful and fun during the week
  • Anyone responsible and nurturing who enjoys being with children - we'll give you full training

Schedule:

  • Regular after-school hours (e.g. 3pm-6pm) on weekdays
  • Optional extra hours in school holidays, some weekends, or evenings by mutual agreement

Pay:

  • From £14.50 per hour for students/newer candidates with informal experience
  • £16-£17+ per hour for candidates with more childcare experience (e.g. TAs, mums, etc.)
  • Plus mileage (for short drives from school to home, and during sessions)

Locations:

  • Families based in Harpenden and Wheathampstead
  • Candidates welcome from Luton, St Albans, surrounding villages - as long as you're happy to drive to families in these areas

Why join us?

  • Work with lovely families and funny, joyful children
  • Be trained and supported - no formal qualifications needed
  • Be a valued part of a family's routine - not just a babysitter
  • A great way to earn more than standard part-time roles, while doing something rewarding

Start Date:

September 2025 - we're recruiting now so there's time for settling in and training beforehand.
