The Broads National Park with its scenic waterways, rare wildlife and rich history is looked after by the Broads Authority, keeping it special for visitors and its community.

This role sits within the Ranger team which plays a vital role in educating people about
important navigation and land-based issues including assisting people with safety procedures and tidal conditions, liaising with local emergency services and responding to issues concerning pollution and oil spills. This role is responsible for taking telephone and email enquiries from Broads' users and relaying information to rangers and other Broads staff, as well as monitoring staff locations during the day and recording and reporting information collected as part of patrols.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people. You will need to be methodical and diligent with experience undertaking administration and data entry tasks including research and collation of information. You will ideally have good knowledge of the Broads area. Control room experience or experience dealing with emergencies is desirable but not essential.

The summer season working pattern will be 16 hours per week working Thursday and Friday followed by 24 hours across Friday, Saturday and Sunday the next week.

The winter season working pattern will be 14 hours per week working Thursday and Friday.

The summer season typically runs from Easter until October half term, during this period working hours will be 9am - 6pm with 1 hour for lunch. The winter season will commence following October half term through until Easter, typically November until March. The winter season working hours will be 9am - 5pm with 1 hour for lunch.
