Are you a Trainee Accountant or Accounts Assistant looking for a step up, future progression, and study support?

If you're currently studying AAT or have just started your ACCA / ACA studies, then this could be an ideal role for you. Having come about through business growth, this is a brand new role which will offer hybrid working, full study support, and on-going training with future progression to Team Leader.

Day to day, you will work on a portfolio of clients, preparing year end accounts through to submission, quarterly VAT returns, and corporation tax computations. You will review the work of more junior staff and, in time, will have the opportunity to become involved in client management, dealing with clients face to face to answer all financial queries and conduct accounts review meetings.

Duties:

  • Work on a portfolio of varied limited companies, sole trader, and partnership clients.
  • Prepare year end accounts through to submission, prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and corporation tax computations.
  • The opportunity to begin to review the work of junior team members and become a mentor.
  • Start to meet with clients with a view to conducting account review meeting with clients.
  • Answer clients' financial queries relating to year end accounts and tax planning.

Requirements:

  • Ideally you will be studying for the AAT qualification, or you will be in the early stages of your ACCA / ACA studies.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a UK based accountancy practice is essential.
  • Experience preparing year-end accounts through to submission.
  • Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns and corporation tax.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
