Tradewind Education is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant who has a passion for making a positive difference for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the whole class, but will have the responsibility to provide 1-1 support where needed. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping the children access the curriculum through differentiating and adpating sessions/activities.
  • Liasing with the class teacher, other Teaching Assistants and the support team to ensure that the children receive around-the-clock, holistic support.
  • Building a positive and trusting relationship with the child, fostering their confidence and self-esteem.

This role is going to be a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2024 running until July 2025.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, ideally with experience supporting children with SEN.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
