Reed Finance are supporting a fascinating company in Cambridge to recruit a Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations in the UK and Europe. This is a pivotal role suited to a qualified finance leader who is ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding journey within a dynamic environment. You will be hardworking, committed, eager to drive change and to lead a capable team. As such you will be given responsibility and autonomy to put your stamp on the role.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Lead the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Analyse P&L statements to provide strategic insights and support decision-making.
  • Manage balance sheets and cash flow, ensuring financial stability and compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with financial teams.
  • Drive financial process improvements and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and growth.
  • Ensure the accuracy and compliance of AP, AR, and payroll functions.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance activities.
  • Provide support during year-end audits and manage additional accounting responsibilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in a global business environment, preferably in a relevant sector.
  • Proficient in financial analysis and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Advanced Excel and confidence with financial systems/ERPs.
  • Strong communication abilities and stakeholder management.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing successful teams.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and a collaborative work ethic.
