INSTALLATION, SERVICE & REPAIR ENGINEER - £31,000 rising to £31,928 after probationary period

Overtime

£75.00 for overnight stays

An excellent opportunity to join a well-established and successful manufacturing business. They currently require an experienced Installation, Service & Repair Engineer based in Cheshire. You will primarily work within 2 hours of Knutsford but will cover the UK and so there will be some travel and overnight stays. The environment is secure and supportive and the majority of employees at the business have enjoyed long and successful careers, so there is plenty of opportunity for progression within the organisation. You will have an Installation assistant who will work alongside you.

The ideal candidate will have Electro-mechanical or Automotive knowledge and experience. Suitable trade qualifications such as a CSC Card and a clean driving licence a necessity. You will be a confident and courteous individual with strong communication skills as liaising with customers in their own homes on a regular basis.

The Duties:

  • Installation, service and repair the company's products in a safe and competent manner
  • Work away from home as requested, sometimes at short notice
  • Ensure precautions taken to safeguard the customers, jobholder, other employees, etc. from any hazards connected with the work
  • Responsible for carrying out weekly maintenance checks of the company vehicles and report any defects as necessary
  • Complete all paperwork required by the company in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain the vehicle stocks to ensure the necessary equipment is maintained to complete all installations on time
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, especially with regards to Health & Safety policies
  • Carry out additional functions as requested by management

Skills required:

  • Experience of installing equipment in people's homes
  • Experience of using power tools and hand tools in a safe manner
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Flexibility around overnight stays and out of hours rota
  • An approachable and friendly manner when dealing with clients in their own homes
  • Good communication skills
  • CSCS card desirable
